The Day Has Arrived

Voices for Vietnam Adoption Integrity wrote a great post about what today means in the world of Vietnamese adoptions. The truth is that noone is really sure what happens now.

The MOU (Memo of Understanding) between the US and Vietnam expires today. According to the Vietnamese government, all dossiers that have not been officially matched with child, will be returned to the PAP (Prospective Adoptive Parents). All those that have been officially matched, will be allowed to complete the process (apply for the child's visa to enter the US, schedule and take part in the Giving & Receiving Ceremony, and travel for the child). The US has said that they will process all of these visa requests and have even brought in extra workers to Vietnam to handle the expected influx of applications.

Praying that we can file our I-600 (visa) very soon so that we may go and get our new son.
