7 Weeks

Today marks the 7 week mark since we first saw our son's face. We are anxious to receive an update on him. We cannot wait to take the next step and file for his visa to bring him home.

Of course, we will patiently wait though as we realize that we are one of the lucky ones that will get to bring a child home from Vietnam. There are hundreds of families that will not be as lucky. We are very thankful for some heartfelt advice that we received that enabled us to be logged in when we were.

You must have a referral by Monday to be able to proceed. As today comes to an end, many hearts will be broken. I pray for all of the families that will not have a happy ending. I pray for the babies that will not find families here in America. I pray that more are matched with European families so that they may have a family to love them.

I would also like to thank all the people that have supported us in the journey over the last 15 months. Our family and friends have really supported us. I know that most have NO idea what we are going through, but they are there to hear me ramble about the steps and all the paperwork. I wish it was as simple as many think it should be. Trust me, if we could have, we would have jumped on a flight a long time ago to go get him! I would like to thank all the people that have been there with a kind word and a quick answer to a question.

Every night, I pray that he is healthy, safe, and loved. I pray for the patience that we need to complete this journey...and the faith.
