6 Months Old

"Independent sitting is itself an important skill, but it's also a big step toward learning to crawl. Once your baby can sit up, it's only a matter of time, strength, and coordination before that translates to a lunge forward onto hands and knees. A few babies start crawling (or getting around via some other form of early locomotion, like scooting) by 6 months, although most take off between 7 and 9 months."

Our new son is 6 months old today. A half of a year of his life has been spent in an orphanage. We will more than make up for it though!!

People are often commenting how he will be in college by the time we go get him. Of course, they are overreacting, but it is hard. WE WANT HIM!!

I remember that there was a Mom at the YMCA during my daughter's swimming lessons that was adopting a toddler from Guatemala and we were asking her every week when she was going for him. I just want to say that I am so sorry to this poor lady. Whoever she is, she has had him home for years now and I am sure she doesn't even remember (OK...care) how long it took to get him home, because he DID come home and she is loving him.

We are anxious to do the same!!
