As many of you know adoptions in Vietnam will be stopping on September 1 due to the expiration of the adoption agreement between the United States and Vietnam. While we will be OK (according to our agency since we have already been matched), there are many families that are not as lucky as us.
The coutries are preparing to begin work on a new agreement. Vietnam has said that they will return all dossiers currently logged in with the DIA on September 1 if they do not have a referral.
I would like to encourage you to go to I-Petitions and sign the petition to be given to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to encourage him to retain all dossiers at the DIA so that these families will be considered for adoption when a new agreement is signed.
