There are 2 recent articles about Vietnam and the steps they are taking to join the Hague.
Lawmakers Back Bid to Join Hague Adoption Convention
Something I found interesting from this article is
Under Vietnamese law, a child must be abandoned by their parents or orphaned to be adopted. Vietnamese parents who send their children to orphanages due to poverty do so only temporarily.
Another article NA Talks on Introducing Hague Rules on Adoption talks about how Vietnam approved the convention in 1993, but until now, the Government had not asked the National Assembly to ratify it.
Very interesting. I hope this means that the country will move ahead with this and secure the future of adoptions there.
